Ordering the wrong engine is expensive, and BMW uses several engine families that look similar from the outside.
1. Read the engine code on the block
On most modern BMW engines the code (for example B58, N63, N55) is cast or stamped near the front of the block, close to the cylinder head joint. Clean the area before photographing it.
2. Check your VIN
The VIN identifies the exact build of your vehicle, including engine variant, gearbox and factory options. Send it to us and we will confirm which engine index fits.
3. Compare the index, not just the family
The same family (B58 for example) covers several indexes with different components. Matching only the family name is not enough on later cars.
4. Photograph the ancillaries
Turbocharger position, wiring plugs and mounting brackets vary between applications. Photos let us verify the fit before anything is shipped.
